One of 25 Scholarships Awarded Statewide

 

Columbus, Ohio (10/16/17) – The Ohio-Michigan Association of Career Colleges and Schools (OMACCS) has awarded Stephanie Shores of Elyria a Workforce Tuition Scholarship to attend Ohio Business College.

The scholarship was one of 25 awarded by the Association through a competitive process. The scholarships assist individuals who attend a career college or school in the state of Ohio. Ohio Business College in Sheffield Village was one of the participating institutions that contributed to the scholarship fund.

In 2011, OACCS created the scholarship program through the Workforce Tuition Scholarship Foundation and this year, a total of $40,000 was awarded to the 2017 winners.

“Our Association and Ohio and Michigan’s career colleges and schools are committed to providing higher education opportunities to students who are seeking career education through our institutions, and it’s a privilege to share the resources in making their dreams come true, while playing a vital role in refueling Ohio and Michigan’s workforce and economy,” said Kent A. Trofholz, OMACCS Executive Director.

Students must use the funds for tuition, fees, and supplies directly related to the cost of their education and training. To maintain eligibility, students are required to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better and a 90 percent attendance record.

 

The Ohio-Michigan Association of Career Colleges and Schools is a multi-state association of voluntary membership for non-public, post-secondary private schools and colleges. All member schools are licensed by the States of Ohio and Michigan, through the State Board of Career Colleges and Schools and the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
